(yeah my debuts are never that good, but once i get things going and such i promise to get much better)
The lights in the arena turn to yellow as “To Be Loved” begins to play. Some, but not many knowing what to expect. While the others all stand in wait for the superstar to walk out. A few seconds pass before out from behind the black curtain I come. I stand at the top of the ramp momentarily, looking around the arena.
I see the cameras flashing.
I see the screaming fans.
I see what I’ve been missing for awhile.
Not…that I chose to be missing this. I didn’t plan on getting injured, it’s just something that happens in this business. But unfortunately the company I worked for didn’t acknowledge that. I made my way down the entrance ramp, microphone in hand. Not knowing how these fans would respond to seeing someone as great as myself grace their beloved federation. I stop and stand at the bottom of the ramp looking to each side of me.
I start off again, towards a group of younger girls in the front row. I grab one’s hand and kiss is softly. The others run their hands over my chest and back which is covered by a tight fitting Affliction T shirt. I smile at them and then walk up the steel steps to get inside the ring.
Usually this would be the time I’d wait for the crowd to die down from cheering my name before I addressed them about whatever is on my mind. But considering the Vass majority had no idea who I was, I wasn’t getting that reaction this time. So I just…went with it.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s come to my attention that you don’t know who I am. That you do not realize just exactly who is standing in the ring before you.” I pause for a moment, then go on. “You are not aware that standing before you right now is simple the greatest wrestler walking the face of the earth today.”
I receive a mixed reaction from this remark. A mixed reaction, but a reaction nevertheless finally.
“Don’t get me wrong…there are many great wrestlers out there, there is. But none of them compare to me. I’m a hall of famer, a former multiple time World Heavyweight Champion. You name it I’ve done it in this industry. You name the match, I’ve competed in it and won. You put any championship gold in my face and I will eventually win it. But, I still don’t think you all quite understand who I am…I mean, I’ve gone through a lot in my days. And I’m sure I will go through even more now that I am the newest member of UWS. It’s also been brought to my attention that this week in my debut match, I will have the chance to advance in the tournament for the Franchise Championship. Which I’m told is the top championship in this federation. Well if it’s a big time champ UWS wants, then it’s a big time champ UWS is going to get. Because I, Brandon Davis am going to win this tournament, no. I’m going to dominate this tournament and become the Franchise Champion and just add that to the on going list of titles that I have held in my historic career.”
The fans cheer at this remark.
“But before I can name myself the Franchise Champion here in UWS, I have to defeat some kind named Suicide?” I scoff as I mention his name. “I’ve seen some footage of the guy, he doesn’t impress me. And he shouldn’t he shouldn’t impress any of us. Because all he is, is a guy who thinks this is a backyard wrestling federation. Something you put together in your back yard, and that’s just not the case. No you see, by him thinking that he’s hardcore and such. I find that disrespectful, I find that disrespectful to UWS because it appears that he doesn’t care about what UWS is all about. But I do, I respect this business more than any of you will ever know. This is my life. This is what I love and I’m going to show you all just how much I truly love it when I defeat Suicide to advance in the tournament.”
